Pandora

Caribbean adventures aboard "Pandora"

We were given an unbelievable opportunity to go and sail the Caribbean in a Hanse 470e sailing yacht called Pandora.  Not surprisingly we jumped at the chance and our exploits are captured for us to share and for you to enjoy: The sights, sounds, turquoise seas and sunshine of this magical part of the world.

The journey taken through the Windward and Leeward Islands is shown by the yellow arrows below on the map  .... we started our journey in the Windwards and worked our way northwards to visit most of the islands en-route.  We have been to all of the islands in the Grenadines and Grenadian waters, and have our definite favourites.

After a few return trips to Grenada to sort out technology problems, we escaped northwards from St Vincent and the Grenadines to visit Martinique, St Lucia and Dominica, the southern most island in the Leeward chain.  Then we continued our journey north in the Leewards via Guadeloupe, Antigua, Montserrat, St Kitts & Nevis, St Barts up to but not stopping at Anguilla (didn't think it looked worthwhile) then back down to St Barts, Nevis and Antigua.

We had Pandora hauled out of the water at the beginning of May 2011, having completed 1917.3 nautical miles over 26 weeks and visited 20 islands along the way.  She'll now be stored safely through the hurricane season prior to her next big adventure on the high seas.
